This article was written about a swarm of earthquakes that occurred near Trinidad Lake, above Trinidad, during or shortly after about 10 waste injection wells directly into or just below the Dakota Formation.

Not only did these swarms of earthquakes identify a previously unknown fault in the area, but it lends some credence to the concept that the Dakota Sandstone could be structural in local geology and seismology.

Could our engineering be cutting a little too close to the “bottom line”, like the sea wall in Fukushima Japan that should have been at least twice its height.
