Notes:

Runoff is higher throughout the northern mountains, including the Rio Chama Watershed, than elsewhere throughout much of the rest of New Mexico.

This “elevated precipitation” and runoff, together, make the Chama River Watershed a quality water resource for the rest of the state, and parts of Texas and Mexico.

The Rios Gallina and Chama Watersheds, with the Azotea diversion from the San Juan Mountains comprise the major tributary to the Rio Grande and its Compact.

Today's pronounced runoff and moraine fits the glacial flume and melt-flush model for forming this Watershed.
